You and I are different, though. We have chosen to take the entrepreneurial path. We have set about to create a business. In effect, we've said, "I don't want to just trade hours for money. I want to build something that produces on its own... whether I'm there or not!" Now, you might be thinking, "Hey, wait a minute...I'm working like a dog in my business... In fact, I think it would be easier if I had a job...trading hours for dollars." Lots of entrepreneurs respond this way. And, partly, it's because they have forgotten the purpose of being in business. Think of it this way for a moment. Imagine that you had a whole bunch of parts. You've got some instructions. You've got some time and energy. And, you begin assembling these parts. Sometimes you make mistakes in how you are putting them together. Sometimes, you get stuck and don't understand what the next step is. Sometimes, you become fatigued and ask yourself, "Why did I begin this dumb project in the first place?" But -- you persist. And, when you have finished, you have built a machine that produces...guess what?...CASH! And, here's the best part: Now that you've built the machine, you just throw the switch and the machine runs all by itself. When you are sleeping, it's producing cash. When you are golfing or taking a vacation. When you are doing stuff with your family. At church. At home. Or -- how about this...it continues to produce while you are off, someplace else, building another machine!
